TWICE will release their new mini album "READY TO BE" and title track "SET ME FREE" on March 10.
TWICE reaffirms that it is a global top girl group by releasing "IM NAYEON", Nayeon's first mini album and the group's first solo album, in June 2022 and “BETWEEN 1&2", a mini album of the whole group, in August 2022, which achieved the first top 10 among K-pop solo artists and the most top 10 listed girl group among K-pop girl groups on the “Billboard 200”, the US Billboard main chart, respectively.
TWICE released "MOONLIGHT SUNRISE", a pre-release English single, on January 20, prior to the release of the new album. As of February 4 (local time), the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked 84th. It entered the Hot 100 chart for the second time after “The Feels”, which was the first original English single released in October 2021. It has raised the expectation for this new album, which contains this song, to its peak.
“READY TO BE”, a new mini album, will continue the global acclaim in 2022 and the fever toward the pre-release English single. “READY TO BE” showcases TWICE’s solid determination ready to break through prejudices and welcome the true “me”. It invites listeners around the world to experience a new side of TWICE that has never been revealed before.
The title track, "SET ME FREE," contains a progressive message assuring that “I will risk everything to protect this feeling” after feeling a love that awakens her hidden true self. The groovy bass line, majestic strings, and simple, yet powerful sound are outstanding, and vocals that delicately express the precarious but bold emotions catch the ears of listeners. The song was composed by Melanie Fontana and Lindgren, who wrote "I CAN'T STOP ME," "CRY FOR ME," and "SCIENTIST," with lyrics by GALACTIKA*, who collaborated with Lindgren on "Heart Shaker.

Then, they emerge the viewer into the music video, like a movie, through the exhilarating sense of liberation felt from the beginning of it.
The music video for "SET ME FREE" focuses on TWICE’s journey who seeks changes after shedding uncomfortable things like others’ eyes and relationships around them. TWICE felt frustrated, as if being tied to something, becomes free by believing in themselves and each other, and TWICE completes the work by leading the narrative autonomously, such as traversing the set without frame limits or splicing their own films together. “SET ME FREE” multiplies freshness by using a unique production style that utilizes a movie-within-movie structure and a wow point that draws the viewer's perspective into reality through “explosion”, a device.
